Die Grundbeleuchtung des Mittelschiffs erfolgt über direkt/indirekt strahlende LED-Leuchten in Sonderanfertigung, die oberhalb der Kapitelle auf einer Höhe von 12,70m platziert sind. Die Leuchten sind als kompaktes quaderförmiges Gehäuse ausgebildet, das jeweils sechs Strahlerköpfe aufnimmt. Die Lichttechnik verschwindet weitestgehend in diesem Gehäuse. Vier der an Gelenken geführten Strahlerköpfe illuminieren die horizontale Bodenebene sanft mit warmtonigem Licht und erzeugen eine ruhige Lichtstimmung, welche die Materialtiefe und Farbigkeit der bronzierten Oberflächen der Urnengrabfelder hervorhebt und die Gravur lesbar macht. Die anderen beiden Strahlerköpfe mit weiterem Ausstrahlwinkel blenden die Deckengewölbe mit diffusem Licht gleichmäßig sanft ein und schaffen so ein ausgewogenes Verhältnis der Leuchtdichten im Raum. Gleichzeitig wird die Wahrnehmung der Raumhöhe ermöglicht. Abblendschuten sorgen dafür, dass die kapitellnahen Gurtbögen nicht vom Licht erfasst werden. Blendung wird durch die Positionierung der Leuchten und den Einsatz von Wabenrastern in allen Direktstrahlern vermieden.
