3No. 10 SPRING 2017ところで、HIDAの一般研修は最も標準的な6週間コースを選択されていますが、御社の場合、研修生の日本語能力はどの程度のレベルを期待されていますか。当社独自で研修生を受け入れていた頃に比べると、HIDAの一般研修で日本語を学んでから当社に来る研修生は、日本語の力が全く違います。日常の会話のみならず、実地研修で必要なコミュニケーションはほとんど日本語でできますので、大変助かっています。また、日本での生活適応力も高まりますので、HIDAの一般研修は企業としてはありがたい制度と思っています。帰国した研修生たちとは、日本語でメールをやりとりすることもあります。実地研修で指導される際、特に配慮されている点などがあれば教えてください。現在、当社の調査測量事業本部で研修生を受け入れて実地研修の指導を行っていますが、できるだけ指導マニュアルや作業手順書などを整え、計画的、体系的に指導するようにしています。ソフトウエアやWebサービスの開発を進めるに当たり、開発および運用基盤となるサーバーやネットワーク環境の管理者となるために必要な構築作業を学んでもらっています。最近は、電子化された地図情報をより有効活用できるようにアプリケーションソフトを開発し付加価値を高めることが重要な技術になってきています。GIS（Geographic Information System、地理情報システム）といいますが、現在研修中の研修生もこのGISを学んでいます。ネパールではまだそこまで高度なアプリケーションソフトのニーズは多くないかもしれませんが、将来、そうしたニーズが高まるときがくると思いますし、ASEAN（東南アジア諸国連合）の中には確実にそうしたニーズが出てきています。実地研修中の研修生の生活環境はいかがですか。男性の研修生は、当社の独身寮に入ってもらいます。女性の研修生の場合は、アパートを借り上げるようにしています。いずれも、会社から徒歩数分の近いところです。名古屋空港のすぐ近くに会社がありますので、買い物や休みの日に名古屋の繁華街に出るには特に不便はないと思います。これまで多くの優秀な技術者がHIDAの受入研修制度を利用し、日本で研修を受けていらっしゃいます。女性も複数名いらっしゃいます。これまで帰国した研修生の仕事ぶりには満足されていますか。もともと現地の会社の経営は現地に任せていて、現地に駐在している日本人はいません。技術的な支援が必要なときは、日本から出張し、ときどき現地に入る程度です。最初の頃に日本に来た研修生は、部長クラスになっていますし、転職していくものも少ないです。日本からシステム開発の一部をネパールにお願いし、その内容も年々技術レベルが高度化してきていますので、当社としても心強く思っています。ところで、ネパールでは、2015年4月に大規模な地震の被害に見舞われ、復興がまだ十分ではないと聞いています。御社では現地企業への被害や事業への影響などはございましたか。会社は、カトマンズの隣のラリットプール市にあります。地震が起きたのは4月25日の土曜日で現地の会社は休みでしたので、幸い従業員らに被害はありませんでした。ただ、会社のビルの階段が崩落してしまい、結局、別のビルに引っ越すことになりました。確かにまだ復興途上ですが、現地の会社では、被害家屋の調査を日本のコンサルタント会社から請け負って行いました。そうした調査は日本政府の復興支援の一環として行われたものと聞いています。20年前にネパールに会社を設立され、今では日本で研修を受けた方が徐々に増え、IT技術者の人材層が相当厚くなってきていると思います。今後の御社の海外展開について、お考えを聞かせていただけますか。日本の地図情報そのものに対する需要はすでに飽和状態で、今後それほど大きく伸びることはないと思っていますが、ASEAN等では、たとえばマーケティングや地域防災に活用するための新たな需要が徐々に増えてくると思っています。当社としては、そうした新たな需要に応え、海外市場を開拓していくことが今後の成長の鍵だと思っています。ネパールのGeoSpatial Systems Pvt., Ltd.社の技術者は当社で学んだ技術と経験を身につけていますし、英語も堪能ですから、当社とともに協力してビジネスを拡大していきたいと思っています。地図情報のシステム開発というやや特殊な分野の研修と思いますが、日本とネパールの技術者の方々が協力して開発にあたっていらっしゃることがよくわかりました。近い将来、ASEANでのプロジェクトを日本とネパールで協同して取り組まれる日がくることを期待しています。本日は、どうもありがとうございました。ネパールの合弁会社が入るビル付近
