Auch wenn der Einsatz von Fernerkundung, Geographischen Informationssystemen (GIS), und anderen digitalen Geomedien mittlerweile bundesweit fester Bestandteil der Bildungspläne des Fachs Geographie ist, werden sie in der schulischen Praxis nach wie vor selten eingesetzt. Auch die notwendige interdisziplinäre Betrachtung aktueller Fragestellungen, die ökologische mit ökonomischen und sozialwissenschaftlichen Aspekten verknüpft, benötigt weitere Stärkung im Rahmen der Schulbildung. Insbesondere aktuelle natur- und umweltwissenschaftliche Fragestellungen werden zu wenig und kaum interdisziplinär behandelt. Im Rahmen der Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE) sollen gerade diese Aspekte mit Fokus auf der Ausbildung von Lehramtsstudierenden gestärkt werden.

Using sophisticated methodology and a comprehensive catalogue of measures, diverse water use scenarios can be calculated applying varied framework conditions and combinations of measures which can be narrowed down, evaluated and compared with each other according to the priorities set in the criteria. Besonders bemerkenswert unter den projektbezogenen Beiträgen war die Vorstellung des innovativen mehrstufigen Entscheidungshilfesystems (DSS). Mit Hilfe einer ausgeklügelten Methodik und eines umfangreichen Maßnahmenkataloges lassen sich damit vielfältige Wassernutzungsszenarien unter variierten Rahmenbedingungen und Maßnahmenkombinationen durchrechnen, die je nach Schwerpunktsetzung bei den Kriterien eingeengt, bewertet und verglichen werden können. Die Auswahl relevanter sozio-ökonomischer Kriterien wurde ebenso erläutert wie die Kopplung hydrogeologischer Modelle mit GIS und deren Einbindung in das DSS. Pilotanlagen zum Wassersparen in der Landwirtschaft und in Siedlungsgebieten sowie die zur Feststellung der Salzwasserintrusion eingesetzte Monitoring-Technik wurden vorgestellt. Abgerundet durch eine von den chinesischen Partnern gut organisierte Exkursion zu den Demonstrationsanlagen im Projektgebiet fand die informative Doppelveranstaltung des deutsch-chinesischen Gemeinschaftsprojekts am dritten Tag einen gelungenen Abschluss.
