Así es como surge la idea de construir un velero de poliéster. En 1964, Michel Dufour se lanza al diseño de un velero transportable, el "Sylphe". Para fabricarlo, asume todos los riesgos financieros posibles, alquila un hangar y comercializa el "Sylphe" a través de su nueva empresa, Le Stratifié Industriel.

In 1957, young engineer Michel Dufour discovered the new material, polyester. At the time, he was a keen competition sailor with a real passion for yachts, class rules and hydrodynamics. This sparked his idea to build a yacht made of polyester. In 1964, Michel Dufour started to design the "Sylphe" transportable yacht. He took a lot of financial risks to make the yacht, rented a hangar and started to make the "Sylphe" under the aegis of his newly formed company, Le Stratifié Industriel.

C’est en 1957 que le jeune ingénieur Michel Dufour découvre ce nouveau matériau qu’est le polyester. À cette époque, il perfectionne sa pratique de la voile en régate et se passionne pour l’étude des voiliers, des règles de jauge et des lois hydrodynamiques. C’est ainsi que naît l’idée de la construction d’un voilier en polyester. En 1964, Michel Dufour se lance dans la conception d’un voilier transportable, le « Sylphe ». Pour le fabriquer, il prend tous les risques financiers possibles, loue un hangar et lance le « Sylphe » sous l’égide de sa nouvelle entreprise, Le Stratifié Industriel.

1957 entdeckt Michel Dufour als junger Ingenieur das neue Material Polyester. Während er Regatten segelt, studiert er mit Begeisterung Vermessungsregeln für Segelboote und die Gesetze der Hydrodynamik. Dabei keimt die Idee zu einem Segelboot aus Polyester auf. 1964 entwickelt Michel Dufour das transportable Segelboot „Sylph“. Um es herzustellen, setzt er alles auf eine Karte, mietet eine Lagerhalle und beginnt mit der Produktion unter seinem Label Le Stratifié Industriel.

In questo periodo perfeziona la pratica della vela in regata e si appassiona allo studio delle barche a vela, delle regole di stazza e delle leggi idrodinamiche. È così che nasce l’idea della costruzione di una barca a vela in poliestere. Nel 1964 Michel Dufour si lancia nella progettazione di una barca a vela trasportabile, la “Sylphe”. Per fabbricarla, si assume tutti i rischi finanziari possibili, affitta un hangar e lancia la “Sylphe” sotto l'egida della sua nuova azienda, Le Stratifié Industriel.
