V megli sem opravil ta mini-zatočišče in nadzornik mi je govorilo, me ogreva s skodelico kave. Izpostavil mi je vrh Mont Blanc, ki je bila med megle za nekaj sekund. Pazi na psa, ki dobi preveč navdušena, ko nove pridejo gostje. Ima 10 posteljami (CHF 10).

Un peu hors des sentiers est Cabane sexe de Carro. Dans la brume je suis passé ce mini-refuge et le directeur m'a salué, m'a réchauffé avec une tasse de café. Il a souligné moi le pic du Mont Blanc comme il est apparu entre la nuit pour un couple de secondes. Regardez son chien qui obtient surexcité quand de nouveaux invités arrivent. Il dispose d'un dortoir lit 10 (CHF 10). Utilisez-le comme une alternative à Vernayaz.

Poletno sankališče, domovina bobrov, dolina je nastala z strahovitim podorom v poledeni dobi – tako je tudi nastal grič prav posebne oblike. Že Rimljani so se podajali skozi dolino – vidni so še deli rimske ceste.

Summer toboggan run, home of the beaver, the valley was created by a violent rock fall after the Ice Age - this explains the unusually shaped hills. This valley was crossed even as far back as Roman times - parts of the Roman road are still visible. Beautiful lakes - also for diving.

Toboggan d'été, maison de la marmotte, la vallée a été formée par une violente chute de rochers après l'Âge glaciaire - ce qui explique l'aspect inhabituel de certaines élévations. Cette vallée était déjà traversée à l'époque romaine (des portions de voies romaines sont encore visibles). Beaux lacs, plongée possible.

Isola (1268m): part of the administrative area of Madesimo. It was an important centre from ancient times as the road to the Spluga pass went through it, an important pass linking Italy and Central Europe through the Cardinello Gorge. The gorge was already used in Roman times and, at times, in the middle ages. Access is via the old mule track cut into the vertical rock face that towers over the Liro Torrent. It climbs gently for over 500m. The trail is comfortably wide at all times, and even has a handrail in parts. At certain points it is truly impressive. In December of 1800, Napoleonic troops led by General McDonald ventured up the Cardinello Gorge with the loss of many men and animals and their loads, all swept into the gully by snow drifts. The trail also goes through the superb hamlet of Rasdeglia, with its perfectly preserved, rustic architecture. The road from Isola to the top of Mottaletta provides access by car.
