He said, “We established our route until 2023 together with our students, academicians, board of trustees, professionals after a thorough thinking process. Our route is ready now. You will be seeing an Izmir University of Economics on the rise of basic values as innovation, participation, social responsibility, perfectionism in the next ten years.” President Demirtaş also stated that research was one of the most significant functions of higher education, however, knowledge generation in the 21st century was not adequate, and they would allocate more resources in order to turn knowledge into financial benefit.

President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that it was a rare event in Turkey, and a first for Aegean region and Izmir University of Economics, and that the students would successfully complete their education with this scholarship. “Izmir University of Economics is a higher education institution established by means of limited resources by Izmir Chamber of Commerce. We were able to establish our library on our first year with the donation granted by Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. Up until now nobody else made any donations. First degree blood relatives of members of district chambers of commerce will be able to benefit from 15% discount in annual tuition fees of Izmir University of Economics at the signature ceremony, hosted by Menemen Chamber of Commerce in Foça, during the Executive Boards Joint Meeting. President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that starting from last year, the Higher Education Board (YOK) allowed them to make discount in tuition fees. He said, "We were not able to get the permission from YOK before. Starting from this year, we will provide 15% discount for first degree blood relatives of our members. I hope this protocol will bring good luck to all.”

IUE, which offers an international standard education to more than 10 thousand students, has raised the “Entrepreneurship Flag” up to the flagpole for the 3rd time. IUE has qualified to have the new “Entrepreneurship Flag” in the “Bu Gençlikte İş Var” titled competition organized by Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) for the most number of enterprising projects. 3 thousand 706 university students entered the competition with one thousand 426 projects. The students had the chance to examine their theoretical knowledge in fields of application. In the technical visit, the logistics managers of the future observed the leading companies in various industries. IUE Department of Logistics Management Students came together with the managers in different departments like human resources, logistics, planning, and delivery and stated that this visit was very beneficial for them to observe the processes. IUE Head of Department of Logistics Management Asst. Prof. Muhittin Hakan Demir stated that higher education could not be consist of just theoretical knowledge and the students who knew the sector well were being accepted more quickly in the business world after their graduation.

The experts recommend 2 million 178 thousand 563 students, who are going to take Transition to Higher Education Examination (YGS) this weekend, to leave aside negative thoughts and focus on their future.
