В очередной раз проверяя по архивным снимкам DSS “подозрительную” галактику PGC 2095477, рядом с которой находится звезда, я с удивлением заметил что в этот раз такой звезды на них нет. А значит, вполне вероятно что это вспыхнувшая сверхновая звезда. Объект был виден на 4 кадрах, имел блеск 18.7m и явно не являлся артефактом изображения. После измерения его координат началась проверка этого объекта на известные сверхновые, переменные звезды и объекты Солнечной системы. И наконец удача, этот объект оказался неизвестным!
