Thanks to GIs stationed in the Chesa during the second World War, the hotel became well known in the USA and attracted famous writers and celebrities from the film industry, who soon lovingly dubbed the Chesa “Hollywood on the rocks”.

Cet hôtel romantique construit en 1938 par l'architecte zurichois Hermann Schneider a été conçu comme une oeuvre globale. Il a réussi à allier traditions artisanales et art créatif contemporain en parfaite harmonie jusque dans le moindre détail. Les GI's stationnés au Chesa durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale ont fait sa réputation aux USA et attiré des écrivains et des personnalités du cinéma célèbres qui nommèrent bientôt avec affection notre hôtel ‚Hollywood on the rocks’. Aujourd'hui, Barbara Rios Guler et Marianne Hunziker entretiennent l'art traditionnel de l'hospitalité.

Il Romantik-Hotel fu costruito nel 1938 dal famoso architetto zurighese Hermann Schneider che intendeva creare un’opera d’arte completa. Egli riuscì a fondere le tradizioni artigianali con l’arte creativa dell’epoca fin nei minimi dettagli. I GIs che soggiornarono nel Chesa nel corso della Seconda Guerra Mondiale fecero conoscere l’hotel negli USA, attirando qui scrittori e personaggi di spicco del cinema, che presto presero a chiamare il Chesa con il delizioso appellativo di “Hollywood on the rocks”. La tradizione della calorosa accoglienza oggi viene portata avanti da Barbara Rios Guler e Marianne Hunziker.
