Lustgärten dieser Art wurden normalerweise mit Skulpturen von mythologischen Figuren, Grotten, Springbrunnen und Teichen verschönert. Der Park hat mehrmals den Besitzer gewechselt, bevor er in den 1950er Jahren in den Besitz der Stadt Tilburg überging.

abgeleitet aus den von metadesign präzise formulierten anforderungen wurde eine gestaltsprache entwickelt, die sich in einfachen objekten manifestiert. auch hier gilt reduktion auf einfache materialien und wenige farben. die mehrzahl der einrichtungselemente ist in kleinen serien gefertigt worden. nahezu alles ist beweglich und kann von den mitarbeitern nach ihren bedürfnissen konfiguriert werden. auf einbaumöbel wurde weitestgehend verzichtet. metadesign arbeitet in teams. hierfür wurde eigens der raumtyp des studios entwickelt. aus dem ursprünglichen labyrinth unterschiedlicher raumtypen entstanden insgesamt 10 studios, die jeweils platz für 22 mitarbeiter bieten.

Die Auslegung der 157 Ansprüche mit dem Ziel, sich eine begründete und kommerziell relevante Meinung darüber zu bilden, ob einer dieser Ansprüche die geplante kommerzielle Tätigkeit unterbinden oder behindern könnte, verlange der Öffentlichkeit in jedem Fall einen enormen, völlig unzumutbaren Aufwand ab. Deshalb verstoße die vorliegende Anmeldung nicht nur gegen die klaren Bestimmungen der R. 29 EPÜ 1973 (R. 43 EPÜ), sondern auch gegen die des Art. 84 EPÜ 1973.

Das Ausstellungskonzept folgt der Aussage Kawakubos, es gebe keinen übergeordneten Erzählstrang in ihrer Biografie, und löst die Wege durch die Ausstellung in eine labyrinthähnliche Struktur auf. Der Besucher soll sich frei darin bewegen und sich spielerisch sowie in seinem eigenen Tempo den Entwürfen annähern können. Um inhaltliche Zusammenhänge zwischen den Kollektionen sichtbar zu machen, wurden neun gegensätzliche Begriffspaare herausgearbeitet, die verschiedene Themenschwerpunkte behandeln. Es werden Spannungsfelder aufgezogen, in denen sich die Exemplare positionieren und so auch klar die Haltung der Designerin kommunizieren. So sind etwa in der Rubrik „Design/Not Design“ ausdrucksvolle und prozessorientierte Modestudien zu sehen, die sich durch ihre Asymmetrie und ihre unfertige und limitierte Ästhetik auszeichnen. Die Kollektion, die 1981 in Paris viel Aufsehen erregte und Kawakubo über Nacht bekannt machte, wird im Spannungsfeld Fashion/Anti-Fashion ausgestellt. Auch die anderen Themenschwerpunkte der Ausstellung zeigen Arbeiten, die das Verhältnis zum und die Grenzen von Modedesign infrage stellen und neu denken. Es wird gezeigt, wie die Designerin die Räume zwischen den Gegensätzlichkeiten der Spannungsfelder für sich einnimmt und sie selbst ausgestaltet.
