Thanks to high-speed brakes and voltage ranges of up to 1,000 volts, we can offer the full spectrum of tests for individual electric motors with high power density. In addition, we offer you the option of using our test benches to test integrated electric axle drives that feature proprietary drive technology, including measurement of wheel torque. A wealth of supplementary equipment is also available, including for oil or water cooling, measuring temperature, pressure, volume flow rates, and NVH, plus electric power measuring equipment for determining efficiency.

Adaptive cruise control (ACC) takes some of the burden away from the driver during the journey by actively supporting him in maintaining a defined minimum distance from the vehicle in front. ACC maintains a desired speed entered by the driver and can also adapt this to changing traffic conditions with independent braking and acceleration. It does this based on the data from a radar sensor, which monitors the area in front of the vehicle. If the vehicle gets close to the vehicle in front, ACC brakes gently to maintain a set minimum distance. This distance can be adjusted in multiple stages in accordance with individual driving habits. Once the road is free again, ACC accelerates the vehicle up to the desired speed set by the driver. The standard ACC works in a speed range from 30 km/h to 200 km/h. The variant ACC Stop & Go is also active at speeds below 30 km/h and can also brake independently to a stop, as well as start up again after release by the driver.

We are continuing to develop the engine control system in order to reduce consumption and emissions even further. This includes hybridization of the powertrain in commercial vehicle applications. In the area of powertrain hybridization, Bosch Engineering is transferring its expertise from the passenger car segment over to components and systems for long-distance trucks of up to 40 tons and for medium-weight and heavy-weight trucks in the distribution transport industry. The advantages of powertrain electrification are considerable in these vehicle categories. The hybridization form most commonly employed is parallel full-hybrid technology, which integrates well into the powertrains of commercial vehicles. On long distances and in distribution transport, in the event of downhill gradients or braking, electrical energy can be recuperated and buffered in a high-voltage battery. On uphill gradients or when starting, this energy drives an electric motor that supports the internal-combustion engine.
