CTF’s International Program is a vibrant CTF service with a proud history of development cooperation in education. From 1962 to the present, we have worked in partnership with National Teacher Organizations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America to improve access to quality publicly funded education for all. Our International Program extends the priorities and advocacy work of CTF beyond our borders. Working in solidarity with our partners in developing countries, we support teachers taking action to improve learning. CTF believes that education is a human right and a public good which should be accessible to all. Yet, despite international attention to EFA targets and MDGs, the reality remains grim in many of our partner countries. Most teachers are under or un-trained. Literacy rates are terribly low. Too many girls are unsafe in school and, therefore, do not complete their education. While school enrolment has improved in many parts of the world, the goal of
