A través de la práctica de Varṇa, el bebé nonato no se inquieta demasiado debido a los ruidos externos, el calor extremo proveniente del estómago de su madre, etc. La "técnica" de Varṇa es dada al bebito por Śiva Mismo. Es un divino acto de misericordia y otro misterio digno de nuestra reflexión.
