Bank of Palestine, in partnership with Welfare Association and Qatar Development Fund began implementing “Wajd” project to sponsor the orphans of the latest aggression on Gaza Strip, with contribution from the Bank and Hajj Hashim Atta Shawa Charity Fund, in the value of five million dollars, as the program was launched few days ago.

ومن الجدير ذكره بأن بنك فلسطين قدم دعمه لعدد من مشاريع رعاية الأيتام التي نفذت سابقاً ويتم تنفيذها حالياً من بينها رعاية مشروع "مستقبلي" لتقديم الرعاية الصحية للأطفال الأيتام بين العام 2008 - 2011، بالإضافة الى دعم مشروع "وجد" لرعاية ايتام عدوان عام 2014 بالتعاون مع صندوق الحاج هاشم عطا الشوا للوقف الخيري بقيمة 5 مليون دولار من خلال مؤسسة التعاون، بالإضافة الى مشاريع أخرى للأيتام، وغيرها من الفعاليات والمشاريع الحيوية للأطفال الأيتام.

Mr. Hashim Shawa, Bank of Palestine’s Chairman and General Manager, welcomed the attendance and expressed his contentment in this occasion and his pride to have the Bank present Asira Al-Shamaliya, which is considered a distinct village on the national level. He indicated that the number of Bank’s branches reached 54 branches and offices, to coincide with the Bank’s establishment 54 years ago by his late grandfather, Hajj Hashim Atta Shawa.

A delegation from Bank of Palestine and Hajj Hashim Atta Shawa Fund conducted a visit to the Public Services Hospital in Gaza, as the group checked on the progress of work within “Wajd” project, which provides integrated health services to around 2,100 orphans of 2014 aggression, which includes medical tests, treatment and surgeries.

من ناحية أخرى، فقد قام وفد من بنك فلسطين وصندوق وقف الحاج هاشم عطا الشوا بزيارة تفقدية لمستشفى الخدمة العامة في غزة، حيث قام الوفد بالاطلاع على سير العمل في مشروع وجد، والذي يقدم الخدمات الصحية المتكاملة لحوالي 2,100 يتيم من أيتام عدوان 2014، تشمل الفحوصات والتحاليل الطبية والعلاج والعمليات الجراحية. كما تفقد الوفد الأيتام الذين تم إجراء العمليات لهم، وكذلك الأيتام الذي يجرون الفحوصات الطبية، وأوضحت إدارة المشفى بأنه تم اجراء الفحوصات لحوالي 1000 طفل، بالإضافة الى اجراء 15 عملية جراحية.

Shawa indicated that the decision by the Bank and Haj Hashim Atta Shawa Charity Fund to provide donations for one of the Welfare Association’s projects is within their framework for social responsibility and in continuation of the Bank’s role as a national Bank with a clear development, social and humane vision towards children and orphans and in support for projects with social framework, in addition to enhancing humane ties and charity work along with continuing with its strategic plan to serve the society, especially in Gaza Strip, which lacks many of the services and has our people greatly suffering due to the occupation’s practices and siege.

Under the agreements, Bank of Palestine will provide the amount of 2.5 million dollars, while Haj Hashim Atta Shawa Charity Fund will provide 2.5 million over ten years, in order to enable the program to provide sustainable education services for orphans, which covers the education supplies for children in kindergarten, schools, universities and technical institutes, in addition to the provision of healthcare, which includes lab tests, treatment and prevention, rehabilitation for people with disabilities and social and psychological support.

وقد صُمم برنامج "وجد" بهدف توفير حياة كريمة للأيتام الذين فقدوا أحد الوالدين أو المعيل الأول خلال العدوان على قطاع غزة عام 2014. وبموجب الاتفاقيتان، سيقوم بنك فلسطين بدفع مبلغ 2.5 مليون دولار، فيما سيقوم صندوق الحاج هاشم عطا الشوا للوقف الخيري بدفع مبلغ 2.5 مليون على مدار عشر سنوات، وذلك لتمكين البرنامج من توفير خدمات التعليم المستدام للأيتام، وبما يشمل تغطية مستلزمات التعليم لأطفال الرياض والمدارس والجامعات والمعاهد التقنية، بالإضافة الى تقديم الرعاية الصحية التي تتضمن الفحوصات المخبرية والعلاج والوقاية، وتأهيل المعاقين، والدعم النفسي والاجتماعي. فضلاً عن تقديم خدمات التطوير المهني والوظيفي للأيتام بما فيهم الشباب والامهات وبما يمكنهم من اكتساب الخبرة العملية التي ستساعدهم في الحصول على فرص العمل وانشاء مشاريع ريادية صغيرة مدرة للدخل. كما ستساهم الاتفاقية في تطوير البنى التحتية للمؤسسات الموفرة للخدمات المختلفة للأيتام وتعزيز الترابط والتواصل ما بين هذه المؤسسات.

من جانب آخر، أوضحت مها محيسن مدير برنامج رعاية الأيتام في مؤسسة التعاون، بأن الإنسان الفلسطيني المُمكَّن هو جوهر عمل مؤسسة التعاون ومحور كل اهتماماتها، ولأجله بدأت وما زالت مستمرة في مسيرة الدعم التنموي والانساني في فلسطين، وفي هذا السياق ومنذ 7 سنوات نفذت برنامج مستقبلي لرعاية أيتام عدوان 2008/2009، وفي أغسطس 2015، أطلقت برنامج وجد لرعاية أيتام عدوان 2014، بتمويل من صندوق قطر للتنمية وبنك فلسطين وصندوق الحاج هاشم الشوا للوقف الخيري، مشيرةً بأن برنامج وجد يركز على رعاية الأيتام وتمكينهم من العيش بكرامة والسعي قدماً ليكونوا أفرادا فاعلين في مجتمعهم، وبالتالي لم يغفل عن دور الأم والتي تتكبل أعباء جسيمة في ظل غياب الأب والمعيل، لذلك استهدف البرنامج الامهات لتمكينهن من الاعتماد على أنفسهن ومواصلة رسالتهن في تنشئة أبنائهن وتوفير حياة كريمة لهن وأبناؤهن.
