For example, its research helped Domtar reduce its reliance on forecasted orders, which requires more warehouse storage. FORAC made the case that it was possible to produce on confirmed orders at an earlier stage in the value chain, an innovation that cuts logistics costs by 30 per cent. FORAC also helps different companies to find mutually beneficial collaborations, such as packing trucks with the most in-demand products, helping to cut both costs and carbon emissions.
