Nik betidanik uste izan dut gauzak errazago eta modu eraginkorragoan gestionatzen direla benetan ondo ezagutzen dituzunean eta bertatik bertara bizi izaten dituzunean, herrialdea gorabehera, hori guztia Matrizera eraman ahal izateko.

I had then worked six years in ULMA as Area Manager in several Eastern European countries including Germany. Although there is always contact form new positions, things are seen differently and from a very operational point of view. Nevertheless, there are other factors, even cultural ones that are not understood. On the other hand, in the Packaging business, service is a very important factor and one that does not end with the sale. Each machine, each client, even with the same product, is a world of its own and therefore one has to be very close with the client. I have always believed that managing things would be much easier and more efficient when you really know them and you directly live them, notwithstanding the country where you are, and that way share this with the Matrix. Both of these needs coincided in the strategic reflections we made and practical form one day to the other we were then immerse in the development of this project that meant expatriation for me.

Yo llevaba entonces 6 años en ULMA ejerciendo el puesto de Área Manager en varios países de Europa del Oeste entre los que estaba Alemania. Aunque desde nuestros puestos hay siempre contacto, se ven las cosas de forma diferente y desde un punto de vista muy operativo. Sin embargo, hay otros factores, incluso culturales, que no se entienden. Por otra parte, en el negocio de Packaging el servicio es un factor muy importante y es por ello que no se termina con la venta. Cada máquina, cada cliente, incluso con el mismo producto, es un mundo y por ello hay que estar muy cerca del cliente. Yo siempre he creído que sería más fácil y eficiente gestionar las cosas cuando realmente las conoces y las vives directamente, independientemente del país del que se trate, y así poder trasladar esto a la Matriz. En las reflexiones estratégicas que solíamos realizar coincidieron ambas necesidades y prácticamente de la noche a la mañana estábamos ya inmersos en el desarrollo de este proyecto que para mí fue la expatriación.
