U grad smo stigli u kišno popodne, a iako nam je hotel bio u samom srcu Osla, ulice su bile prazne. Bili smo u dva restorana – oba su bila prazna. Bili smo prvi gosti koji su došli večerati i za našeg boravka tamo svega su četiri stola bila zauzeta, što se sve skupa činilo čudno.

We arrived to the city later in the rainy afternoon, and even though our hotel was located in the hearth of Oslo, streets were empty. We were in two restaurants, choosing where to eat, and as well – both restaurants were empty. We were the first guests for a dinner, and throughout the evening there were only four tables occupied, which was kinda odd. Coming from Dublin where it’s almost impossible to get a table for dinner and all the pubs and bars are constantly fully booked, being in an empty place was weird. But the food was good, and service was excellent.

Prošle godine bili smo svježi u Irskoj, tek došli i još smo se svemu čudili pa tako i hrpi šareno odjevenih ljudi koji šeću centrom. Kada sam pitao o čemu se radi, rekli su mi “pub crawl” (bauljanje pubovima) ili “12 pubova za Božić”.

Nisu bili nekulturni samo glasni, ali onda su poželjeli na engleskom zahvaliti ljudima koji su ih slikali pa su se počeli derat “Epi EsteRRRR”.

The thought that we are the only ones celebrating Easter outside on the beach lasted for less than five minutes. A group of noisy Italians came just in front of us, taking pictures and celebrating Easter screaming “Buona Pasqua” and asking random people to take a photo of all of them and at the same time making silly Italian jokes thinking that no one understands them. They were not rude just loud and then when they wanted to say “thank you” in English they started screaming “Happy Easter” but since they obviously don’t speak English it sounded like “[æpɪ ɛstɛrr]”. Ah, ItalianZ. :))

Najdulji skokovi koje sam ja vidio bili su 231 metar davne 2008. i 225 metara 2011. Slovenci su 2015. preuredili svoj Nordijski Centar Planica i na najduljoj skakaonici bi se teoretski mogli vidjeti skokovi do 270 metara.

The longest jumps I’ve seen live were 231 meters in 2008, and 225 meters in 2011. However, in 2015 Planica Nordic Centre was renewed, and the longest flying hill of eight in total should now let jumpers fly up to 270 meters. Planica was holding world records from 1934 till 1948, then again from 1969, with a couple of exchanges with Oberstdorf in Germany till 2011 when on flying hill Vikersundbakken in Vikersund, Norway took over. That explains why fixes were made in 2015 – Slovenia wants their title back!

No one on the streets, 35 degrees Celsius and not a sign that anyone is actually in the house. A few minutes later a couple more people appeared and after some time we decided to knock on the school doors. As expected, people were in it and were preparing everything for our four hours lectures.

After lunch we headed up to grand finale. My biggest wish to climb up the Eiffel tower was about to come true. We were fed good, and prepared to wait 2-3 hours in line for that. And out of nowhere my wife shoots a sentence. “I know I will hate myself as soon as I say this and that after 3 days of constant walking this is crazy, but the line is evidently shorter in “stairs only” entrance. Should we try to walk upstairs?” Yep! That’s exactly what we did!

Something got us quite confused in front of the City hall, when the bells started to ring a melody that sounded familiar. Later (in Dublin) I’ve googled it, and I found a list of songs performed by the Oslo city hall bells. It seems that we managed to recognize “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (by George Harrison), and one that sounded familiar was “I Wanna be Sedated” (by The Ramones). What a cool city.

Nismo tako bili najsigurniji da li uopće imamo smještaj ili ćemo ga tek morati tražiti pa smo prvo otrčali do hotela. Sva sreća, Japanac se ne šali s ozbiljnim stvarima tako da je bilo sve ok, ostavili smo stvari u hotelu i krenuli prema Parku mira i kupoli nad kojom je eksplodirala atomska bomba.
