According to the Official Gazette published 4 June, the Ministry of Development has approved the record of public information on the Riudecols diversion. The bypass project is budgeted at 30.8 million euros, and it will have a length of 8 km which will serve to isolate the centre of Riudecols from traffic on the N-420. This will serve to relieve the built-up area of much of the 9,000 vehicles that travel this route daily (data from the Partial Territorial Plan for the Camp de Tarragona Region). The route’s design, with a 3.5 metre road surface in each direction, 1.5 metre hard shoulders and 0.75 metre berms, will allow traffic up to a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The project provides for two junctions with the existing N-420 and includes 2 viaducts, 6 bridges, 3 overpasses and 2 underpasses.
