Mariangela Gualtieri ama chiamare il suo recital 'Rito sonoro' perché in esso, insieme al pubblico, si propone di ritornare all'ascolto teso e ispirato della scrittura.Ha pubblicato libri in versi, fra i quali: Antenata (Crocetti, 1992), Fuoco centrale (Einaudi, 2003), Senza polvere senza peso (Einaudi, 2006), Paesaggio con fratello rotto (Sossella, 2007), Bestia di gioia (Einaudi, 2010), Caino (Einaudi, 2011), Sermone ai cuccioli della mia specie (Teatro Valdoca, 2012).

Mariangela Gualtieri is the playwright and co-founder, with director Cesare Ronconi, of Teatro Valdoca theatre company. She is known for her work on “the oral delivery of poetry”, with particular attention to the voice amplification and the relationship between poetic verse and live music. She likes to call her recital ‘Rito sonoro’ as with it she aims to retrieve the tense and inspired listening of the writing process, and to do so together with the audience. Mariangela Gualtieri has published several collections of poems, including: Antenata (Crocetti, 1992), Fuoco centrale (Einaudi, 2003), Senza polvere senza peso (Einaudi, 2006), Paesaggio con fratello rotto (Sossella, 2007), Bestia di gioia (Einaudi, 2010), Caino (Einaudi, 2011), Sermone ai cuccioli della mia specie (Teatro Valdoca, 2012). A new collection of poems is going to be published by Einaudi, in September. “Le giovani parole” is a new selection of poems, all translated into English.
