Quand on lit le rapport sur le Congo—je ne l'ai pas lu au complet, mais j'en ai parcouru de larges parties—on voit qu'il y a aussi du sang sur le cobalt, le cuivre, le coltan et je pourrais continuer. D'une certaine manière, le diamant, du fait qu'il est si rare et si précieux, est un produit plus facile à contrôler ou à surveiller que ces autres minerais.

Die Arbeitsbedingungen für die lokalen Arbeitnehmer_innen und Schürfer_innen in den Minen sind sehr hart, die Wertschöpfung geschieht meist im Ausland. Peter Molnar, Geschäftsführer des Klimabündnis Österreich, forderte die Anwesenden dazu auf, die Empfehlungen der UNIDO umzusetzen und bspw. auch bei der Parlamentssanierung nur Gold mit FAIRTRADE®-Zertifikat zu verwenden.
