A haematoma (contusion or “bruise”) means the discharge of blood from the blood vessels into the surrounding tissues of the body. The cause is usually an injury to a vein or an artery by a blow or an impact. The problem typically manifests as swelling, pain and discolouration of the skin, though not immediately after the injury. It is advisable to cool the affected area right after impact. Then the application of a cream or a gel can relieve the discomfort, and the bruises/ contusion will disappear faster.

L’hématome (ecchymose ou bleu) est un écoulement de sang partant des vaisseaux et qui se répand dans les tissus avoisinants. Il apparaît généralement en raison d’une blessure au niveau d’une veine ou d’une artère suite à un coup ou à un choc. Les troubles tels que les tuméfactions, les douleurs et les colorations de la peau ne surviennent généralement pas immédiatement après la blessure. Après un coup, il est conseillé de rafraîchir immédiatement la zone atteinte. Ensuite, l’application de crème ou de gel permet d’atténuer les troubles et de faire disparaître les bleus et les hématomes plus rapidement.
