  Gleann Cholm Cille
Tá clú ar an réigiún fosta as saibhreas a thraidisiúin chultúrtha agus cheoil agus as na háitribh réamhstairiúla ann, gan trácht ar na háiseanna den scoth atá cruthaithe san áit, mar An Clachán iomráiteach a bhunaigh an tAthair Mac Daidhir. Mar thionscnamh de chuid an phobail a cruthaíodh é, saothar a bhfuil obair Oideas Gael ag cur leis i rith an ama.
The region is renowned for its wealth of tradition, culture, music and prehistoric settlements, as well as the excellent amenities specially created here, such as the famous Folk Village, founded by Fr. McDyer as a result of notable community effort, to which the work of Oideas Gael continues to contribute. An tOireachtas, the major celebration of Irish language and culture, took place here in October 1989.

Never has the march of progress been allowed to brush them irreverently aside’. Prof. Herity served as director until 2015. He sadly passed away last year (2016) on 22 January. ‘Suaimhneas síoraí ar a anam’.

Cén chanúint a úsáidtear agus an teanga á múineadh? Síleann muid gurb í an chuid is tábhachtaí dár gcur chuige ná teagascóirí gairmiúla ardoilte ardaidhmeannacha a úsáid. Bheadh taithí ag an chuid is mó acu a bheith ag múineadh in áiteanna éagsúla ar fud na hÉireann agus bheadh cur i láthair soiléir acu dá bhrí sin is cuma cén chanúint atá acu féin.
What dialect is used in the language teaching? Our first priority is to use professionally qualified and highly motivated teachers. The majority would be experienced in teaching in various places throughout Ireland and would therefore have clarity of presentation regardless of which dialect they use on a daily basis. As we are located in Ulster, there will be a slight emphasis on the Ulster dialect but not to the detriment of others. We feel that dialect can become too major an issue for learners instead of focusing on the core language itself. We find that once people reach a certain level of fluency, they then place emphasis on one particular dialect, for one reason or another. We know many excellent teachers with a Brooklyn, Chicago or Tokyo dialects!
  Áiseanna sa Cheantar
Bíonn mí an Mheithimh, mí Iúil agus mí Lúnasa tirim agus te go leor, de ghnáth, le ceathanna éadroma báistí. D’fhéadfadh leis a bheith fuar inniu agus te amárach. B’fhéidir go mbeadh sé ag cur fearthainne ar maidin agus an ghrian ag scoilteadh na gcloch tráthnóna. Nach cuma?
What is the weather like? You cannot predict Irish weather! June July and August is usually dry and summery with probable light showers. It may be cold today and warm tomorrow. It may be showery in the morning with beautiful sunshine in the afternoon. Who cares?
