For stage one lung cancer cases, one-year survival decreases steeply according to the level of disadvantage of an area, from almost 90 percent among patients living in the least disadvantaged areas to 72 percent for those from the most disadvantaged. No such inequality in lung cancer survival is observed within stages two, three, four and unknown stage at diagnosis.

Bydd y prosiect yn defnyddio data o Fiobanc y DU a dau gohort hydredol, sydd â mesurau lluosog o fesurau iechyd meddwl a chorfforol a chanlyniadau economaidd a chymdeithasol i rieni a phlant, ynghyd â thystiolaeth economaidd.
The project will use data from UK Biobank and two longitudinal cohorts, which have repeated measures of multiple mental and physical health measures and economic and social outcomes for parents and children, combined with economic evidence.

Bydd dau ddigwyddiad yn cael ei gynnal yn y Gogledd a’r De ar 17 a 20 Hydref 2006. Bydd yr hyfforddiant yn edrych yn fanwl ar brif ffrydio gwasanaethau Canolfannau Byw’n Iach a’r camau sydd eu hangen i sicrhau cynaliadwyedd.
Two events will be running in both South and North Wales on 17 and 20 October 2006. The training will provide a deeper insight into mainstreaming Healthy Living Centres’ services and the actions required to reach sustainability.

Dau brif siaradwr y dydd oedd Dr Thomas Yates, Uwch Ymchwilydd ym Mhrifysgol Caerlŷr a Dr Rob Andrews, Uwch Ymchwilydd Ymgynghorol ym Mhrifysgol Bryste. Rhoddodd y cyflwyniadau gipolwg ar ymchwil wrthgyferbyniol yn ymwneud â buddion gweithgaredd corfforol yn erbyn maeth ar gyfer atal a thrin Diabetes.
The two main speakers for the day were Dr Thomas Yates, Senior Researcher at the University of Leicester and Dr Rob Andrews, Consultant Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol. The presentations gave an insight in to opposing research regarding the benefits of physical activity versus nutrition for the prevention and treatment of Diabetes. Presentations were also delivered by PhD students from Cardiff Metropolitan University and Swansea University. During the afternoon delegates split in to two groups to discuss issues around gaps in current research and to provide input to the consultation process of Together for Health - A Diabetes Delivery Plan.

All persons that exhibit the early signs of measles – the symptoms of which include fever, cough, runny nose and red eyes (conjunctivitis) – should not go to places of work, study or school, and avoid social interactions. The distinctive red rash develops two to seven days after these first symptoms.

Ahead of the Easter break we are urging all parents with children within the Cardiff and Blaenau Gwent areas that have not had two doses of MMR to contact their GPs and immediately arrange this quick, safe and effective vaccine.
