Dans son allocution devant le plénum, Toni Frisch a souligné que la Suisse maintiendrait l’aide humanitaire qu’elle apporte aux victimes de Tchernobyl. Depuis 2000, la DDC a consacré près de 16,5 millions de francs à l’aide aux communes touchées par la catastrophe en Biélorussie, en Ukraine et en Russie.

Toni Frisch, in his speech to the plenary session, emphasised that Switzerland will continue its humanitarian aid to the victims of Chernobyl. The SDC has provided some 16.5 million francs since 2000 for humanitarian projects in those communities in Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia that were stricken by the disaster. Facilities and equipment include radiation monitoring stations, health care centres and youth quarters outfitted with Internet connections. The projects are improving the living conditions in these communities and providing impulses for social and economic development. They are being implemented together with UN organisations and local non-governmental organisations.

Toni Frisch unterstrich in seiner Rede vor dem Plenum, dass die Schweiz ihre humanitäre Hilfe an die Tschernobyl-Opfer fortsetzen wird. Die DEZA hat in den von der Katastrophe betroffenen Gemeinden in Belarus, der Ukraine und Russland seit 2000 humanitäre Projekte für rund 16,5 Millionen Franken umgesetzt. Eingerichtet wurden unter anderem radiometrische Messstationen, Gesundheitszentren und Jugendhäuser mit Internet-Anschluss. Die Projekte verbessern die Lebensbedingungen in den betroffenen Gemeinden und geben Impulse für den sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Aufbruch. Sie werden zusammen mit UNO-Organisationen und lokalen Nichtregierungsorganisationen durchgeführt.

Nel suo intervento pubblico Toni Frisch ha sottolineato che la Svizzera porterà avanti il suo sostegno umanitario alle vittime di Chernobyl. Dal 2000, la DSC è attiva in numerosi comuni contaminati di Bielorussia, Ucraina e Russia con progetti che hanno finora beneficiato di finanziamenti per un totale di 16,5 milioni di franchi. I fondi hanno consentito, fra le altre cose, di allestire stazioni di misurazione delle radiazioni, centri sanitari e case della gioventù allacciate ad internet. I progetti, realizzati in collaborazione con organizzazioni delle Nazioni Unite ed organizzazioni non governative locali, consentono di migliorare le condizioni di vita nei comuni interessati e danno preziosi impulsi al rilancio sociale ed economico.
