In the heart of the Drôme Provençale, near the Castle of Grignan where the Marquise de Sevigne holidayed, Nicolas Ruth has put in place organic farming of fields of lavender, poppies and olive trees de Nyons. Plants and ingredients derived from Provence and used in the collections developed by the Durance since his father founded it in 1997. “The territory is rich. We are looking for noble ingredients and we are very careful to make our products more naturally with 95% natural ingredients. It takes three years to grow an organic field. Today we are testing to reintroduce varieties of old Provencal plants,” explains the head of the family business. This passion for perfumes and the Provence was instilled in childhood when tasting honeysuckle for the first time on the farm of his parents.
