This Guide is intended to clarify and support the efforts of proponents in conducting effective Environmental Assessments (EAs) and preparing related documentation in support of their Pulp and Paper Green Transformation Program (PPGTP) funding applications. Specifically, the Guide: - Sets out and clarifies the EA process followed by Natural Resources Canada under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA) for projects likely to receive PPGTP funding; and - Provides support and tools for proponents to assist them in meeting their EA requirements by providing guidance on the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
