The other reason was that we got the front row for the dinner.

Be advised that most frequent pubs in the Temple Bar are so packed during the weekends that waiting 30 minutes to an hour for the table is nothing unusual, so don’t come to a pub starving and then nervously waiting for the table.

Unfortunately, we’ve heard news that just two days after our return a huge fire caught this area and firefighters were fighting a few days to save it from a complete disaster. I hoped to see it green in a few weeks, but I assume it will take a year at least.

Airport is among smallest I’ve ever seen and I was quite surprised with it. All waiting rooms and all hallways are pretty narrow so wherever you try to move it’s crowded and packed. Luckily we were tired enough and had short 3 hours overlay so it passed quickly.

On each important building in Hiroshima, there’s a photo how it looked like after the atomic blast. So as soon as you get of the train on a relatively modern train station, you can see the photo of completely – to the ground – burned old train station. And it’s almost 1.8 km away from the atomic dome.

The whole area is new, modern, built just a few years back (2012) and there are two available floors for visitors. Regular, on height of 350 meters, and additional one at 450 meters. When we got there, waiting time to take us to the first floor was about one hour and thirty minutes. We almost decided not to go up, but then a member of the staff explained us that there is an “express” line, which is just a few Euros more.

Our plan was to eat local food as much as possible and information on-line said that one of local specialities to try in Hiroshima is Okonomiyaki. When we arrived to apparently the best Okonomiyaki place in the city, there were no free seats. We were really tired and hungry so we decided to wait.

We did not bother asking what is it all about but we decided to head towards Valentia Island that is some 30 km away from Waterwille. When we crossed about 26 km we’ve hit the road barrier. We had two options, to wait for the bicycle race to finish, and that would make us sit and wait on the road for couple of hours, or to go back to Waterville.

Not to waste too much time we turned back straight away and decided to visit Valentia Island next time. On the way back we stopped on Ballinskelligs Beach and castle. Later tomorrow I’ve heard Julí explaining us some local things mentioning “skellig” several times but had no idea what it actually means.

The view from above is just awesome, and since it was a nice hot summer day with highs up to 36 degrees, it was awesome. We had to wait for some 30 minutes to our next experience, and there was no better way to spend time than to enjoy the apparently the best ice-cream that you can get on southern hemisphere! The golden gaytime!

Welcoming airport staff, organized police and customs and within 30 minutes we were officially in Japan. It took us around 10 minutes to figure out that this country is a bit different. People are all incredibly polite. When you ask for help, they will always do it with a big smile. So they explained us that the JR office, where we need to exchange our JR vouchers for JR passes, opens at 7:45, and that we have to wait for almost an hour. We decided to use that time to grab a coffee and some quick snack.

Jedan od rijetko ljubaznih muških me tu uzeo pod svoje, objasnio mi da imaju nevjerojatnu gužvu i da ću morati sačekati oko pola sata jer moraju dofurat iz skladišta.
Then in the Barça Mega store. I’ve picked a training jacket with the “Barça” printed on the back and asked for “XL”. One of rare pleasant guys in Barcelona explained to me that I’ll have to wait for thirty minutes as they need to get it from the storage. After thirty minutes, another guy arrived and gave me my jacket, and left immediately. By the time I turned the jacket it was to late, there was no text “Barça” printed. I’ve spent again 5-10 minutes to catch one of the workers there, and when I found one he told me that “there are no problems, as this jacket is anyhow five Euro cheaper”. It was like that I’m talking about 5 Euro not about the fact that it’s not what I asked for. When I finally explained that it’s not about the money, but the text itself, he pointed to the stairs and said “you can get it printed for five Euro downstairs”, turned around and left. So, 45 minutes in the store of my favourite club, and yet another disappointment.
