Anchored within the EVS is the Kenya Early Recovery through Neighbourhood Volunteers (KERVO) scheme. This project is managed by Kenyan UNV volunteer coordinators, who carry out training to promote peace and reconciliation: it also aims to dovetail with Volunteerism for Development (V4D) as a national strategy for development cooperation.

Ancré au sein du PUV on trouve le Plan de Relèvement accéléré du Kenya par les Volontaires de Quartier (RKVQ). Ce plan est administré par les volontaires VNU coordonnateurs Kenyans qui dispensent la formation pour favoriser la paix et la réconciliation : il vise également à introduire le Volontariat pour le Développement (V4D) en tant que programme national pour la coopération au développement.

The longer-term idea is to help communities respond to, resolve and recover from conflicts by themselves and enhance a culture of volunteerism. UNV partnered with UNDP and the Kenyan Ministry of State for Special Programmes to launch the EVS in the aftermath of Kenya's disputed election in December 2007, which triggered a wave of violence.

L'idée à plus long terme est d'aider les communautés à réagir seules, résoudre et se rétablir des conflits en cultivant une culture du volontariat. Le programme VNU s’est associé au PNUD et au Ministère d'Etat Kenyan pour les Programmes spéciaux pour le lancement du PUV au lendemain de l'élection contestée du Kenya en décembre 2007, qui a déclenché une vague de violence.
