IndustriALL has offered its solidarity to 70 members of its Honduran affiliate, the FITH. They were sacked for protesting at the anti-trade union actions taken by their employer, the Korean cardboard company, Corporación Cartonera 3j Fenix, located in Villanueva, a municipality in the department of Cortés.

IndustriALL a fait acte de solidarité avec 70 adhérents de son affilié hondurien FITH qui ont été licenciés pour avoir protesté contre les menées antisyndicales de leur employeur, le fabricant de carton coréen Corporación Cartonera 3j Fenix, situé à Villanueva, une municipalité du département de Cortés. IndustriALL a sollicité l'intervention du ministère du Travail pour mettre un terme au conflit.

The latest conflict started on 2 March, when the company began targeting newly elected union officers, offering them up to nearly three times their legal severance pay if they resigned voluntarily – not necessarily an easy decision for workers who earn only a third of what they need to survive. Five leaders from local union Sitrapetralex, which forms part of FITH, refused to accept and were summarily dismissed.

Le dernier conflit remonte au 2 mars, quand l’entreprise a commencé à s’en prendre à deux responsables syndicaux nouvellement élus, en leur offrant jusqu’à près de trois fois leur indemnité légale de départ s’ils acceptaient de quitter volontairement le syndicat – ce qui n’est pas une décision facile à prendre pour des travailleurs/euses qui gagnent seulement le tiers du montant nécessaire pour survivre. Cinq dirigeants du syndicat local Sitrapetralex, qui appartient à la FITH et qui ont refusé d’accepter l’offre ont été sommairement congédiés.  Un seul a accepté quand sa sœur a été menacée d’une mise à pied.
