It is thus necessary to ensure that the use of antibiotics in veterinary medicine does not compromise their efficacy in human medicine and that, in terms of animal wellbeing, the selective treatment of animals with antibiotics remains possible at the same time. This objective has been anchored in a strategy paper of the FVO and an action plan drawn up for the next few years.

Globalement, on constate une nouvelle diminution des quantités d'antibiotiques vendues. La baisse est de 5,1% par rapport à 2010 et même de 14% par rapport à 2008. Les antibiotiques les plus vendus restent les sulfamides. Arrivent en deuxième position, non plus les tétracyclines, mais, pour la première fois, les pénicillines. Par rapport à la quantité totale, la part des pré-mélanges médicamenteux a atteint 65% en 2011, dans le même ordre de grandeur que les années précédentes. La hausse constante des ventes de céphalosporines, déjà constatée l'année précédente, s'est poursuivie en 2011. Les préparations servant au traitement des mammites chez les vaches laitières arrivent largement en tête, avec une augmentation de 71% au cours des six dernières années.

Die Ausbreitung von multiresistenten Keimen wie MRSA oder ESBL- produzierenden Enterobakterien, die auch beim Menschen in zunehmendem Masse gefunden werden und nur noch mit wenigen Reserveantibiotika behandelbar sind, bereitet weltweit Sorge. Es gilt also, dafür zu sorgen, dass durch den Einsatz von Antibiotika in der Veterinärmedizin deren Wirksamkeit in der Humanmedizin nicht beeinträchtigt wird und gleichzeitig unter dem Aspekt des Tierwohls die gezielte Behandlung von Tieren mit Antibiotika weiterhin möglich ist. Diese Zielsetzung wurde in einem Strategiepapier des BVET verankert und ein Aktionsplan für die nächsten Jahre zusammengestellt. Weitere Informationen unter http://www.bvet.admin.ch/.

Desta preoccupazione in tutto il mondo la diffusione dei germi multiresistenti, come i MRSA o gli enterobatteri produttori di ESBL, che sono stati rilevati anche nell'essere umano in quantità crescenti e che possono ormai essere debellati soltanto con pochi antibiotici di riserva. Occorre quindi provvedere affinché l'impiego di antibiotici in medicina veterinaria non comprometta la loro efficacia nella medicina umana e che al contempo sia ancora possibile il trattamento mirato degli animali con gli antibiotici tenendo conto del benessere di questi ultimi.
