Quizá muy pronto después de nuestro viaje, volvamos a tener noticias de Scott Wood muy pronto. Lo que sí es indudable es que el sonido de su gaita sigue grabado en nuestra memoria mucho después de haber vuelto a subir a la autocaravana Hymer para enfilar hacia un nuevo destino.

Scott’s success has also created envy: “One of the harder aspects would be dealing with criticism from other musicians in the scene, as you get older, you realize that is just jealousy.” However, he does not have much time to concern himself with this criticism because Scott is already making plans to make Scottish music famous outside the country: “My next aim is to take Scottish music to some of the biggest festivals in the world!” So perhaps we will hear from Scott Wood again soon on our road trip. The sounds of the bagpipes are still ringing in our ears as we get into in the Hymer camper van and head off towards our next destination.

Scotts Erfolge bringen auch Missgunst mit sich: „Andere Musiker der Szene begannen mich zu kritisieren. Doch mittlerweile verstehe ich, dass das nur Neid ist.“ Ihm bleibt ohnehin nicht allzu viel Zeit, sich mit dieser Kritik auseinanderzusetzen – Scott schmiedet bereits Pläne, um die schottische Musik auch außerhalb des Landes bekannt zu machen: „Ich will sie auf die größten Festivals der Welt bringen!“ Vielleicht also werden wir auch nach unserem Roadtrip schon bald wieder von Scott Wood hören. Die Klänge des Dudelsacks hängen uns noch im Ohr, als wir wieder im Hymer Wohnmobil sitzen und uns aufmachen zu unserem nächsten Ziel.
