Hans Erni (21 February 1909 to 21 March 2015) was a Swiss painter, graphic designer and sculptor. He became known throughout the country with his mural "Switzerland, Vacation Land of the People" for the Swiss national exhibition in 1939. "Artists must publicise their lifelong concerns". This personal conviction of Hans Erni did not only apply for his artistic work. It equally applied to his commitment to peace, justice and humanity.

Hans Erni (21 février 1909 – 21 mars 2015), peintre, graphiste et sculpteur, est devenu célèbre avec sa fresque monumentale «La Suisse, pays de vacances des peuples», réalisée pour l’Exposition nationale suisse de 1939. «L’artiste doit porter aux yeux du monde les préoccupations qui émaillent sa vie.» Cette conviction personnelle exprimée par Hans Erni ne se retrouve pas seulement dans son activité artistique; elle est aussi au coeur de son engagement pour la paix, la justice et l’humanité.
