Insplorion’s founder group, scientists at Chalmers university, has done research on detection of different gases, and especially hydrogen gas. The industry interest in hydrogen detection is by large connected to regulation and control related to fuel-cell applications. If the interest of fuel cells increases, the interest in hydrogen sensors follows. Cost effective, sensitive and robust hydrogen detectors could also be of interest in other areas, for example battery charging, as hydrogen gas explosions can take place at charging stations for trucks, forklifts, aerial platforms and other battery powered tools in the industry.
