The history of the Grazer Kunstverein from 1986-1993 forms the framework for DURCH 11. During the first years since the foundation Peter Pakesch and Elisababeth Printschitz have given an outstanding profile to the Grazer Kunstverein through magnificent exhibitions of contemporary art and also through the publication of DURCH. DURCH 11 is a collection of texts, drawings and photos as well as some works especially designed for this book by artists, literaries and theorists, who have considerably shaped the program throughout these years. Thomas Bayrle, Larry Clark, Helmut Draxler, Günther Förg, Christine Frisinghelli, Elfriede Jelinek, Ilya Kabakov, Greil Marcus, Elisabeth Schlebrügge, Jörg Schlick, Michael Schuster, Otto Zitko und Heimo Zobernig, are only some of the many who have made a contribution to this publication which has been arranged in memory of Elisabeth Printschitz, who died too early in the year 1993.

Das Buch verbindet Gespräche mit Teilnehmern des Projektes, Fotografien, Zeitungsausschnitte, Collagen und Zeichnungen und gibt zugleich Einblick in die Geschichte des hochalpinen Tourismus der 1970er- und 1980er-Jahre in der damaligen Tschechoslowakei.
Július Koller, UFOlogist, sceptic and game-player, is considered the key figure in 20th century Slovak art. The Ganek Gallery is a book devoted to reconstructing one of his most important artistic projects. This legendary gallery was situated on a mountain peak, highly regarded by climbers, in the High Tatras range. Although no works were ever actually displayed there, its aim was to communicate thoughts and ideas which would not have found their place in art otherwise. The project evolved through many years of persevering work, with the community of its adherents meeting in private apartments in Bratislava. This book about the Ganek Gallery emerged from the dialogue with participants, as a supplementary catalogue of Koller's fictive institution. It brings together photographs, magazine cut-outs, collages, drawings and text records from many private and public sources. The print media and the culture of high mountain tourism in Czechoslovakia in the 1970s and '80s are explored in all their complexity. Light is thrown upon an artist whose working methods remain inspirational right to the present day.
