The festival programme CINEMA FOR THE EAR will screen three older films of utmost importance for animation and pop culture, YELLOW SUBMARINE (1968) by GEORGE DUNNING, a film of psychedelic and exceptional animation and hypnotic, surreal images accompanying the music of the uberpopular Liverpool four THE BEATLES; PINK FLOYD – THE WALL (1982) by ALAN PARKER speaking of estrangement and human isolation, an issue more burning than ever. This 15-minute animated sequence is a true pop culture classic, created by the political illustrator GERALD SCARFE. The final programme entry is the sci-fi film HEAVY METAL by GERALD POTTERTON, featuring scenes of violence, nudity and sex with the sounds of Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth, Cheap Trick, DEVO and Grand Funk.

Alexander Dupuis is a composer, animator, media artist, and performer. His work encompasses the application of graphics in musical contexts: as interactive scores, as audiovisual instruments, and as musical elements in their own right. Through the use of real-time animations, visualizations, and projections, he develops visual methods for structuring and informing musical composition, experience, and performance. He performs as a guitarist, as well as with instruments of his own design, and has performed with his custom audiovisual systems in Europe, Canada, and the United States. He received his MA in Digital Musics from Dartmouth College in 2012, and is currently a PhD student in the MEME program at Brown University.

Tomislav Babić composes music for film, television and theatre. He studied composing at UCSB (USA) and electronic music at CREATE (Centre for Research in Electronic Art Technology). Next to his work on film, he occasionally composes contemporary chamber music and experimental electronics. Tomislav performs his electroacoustic works with Nimbus Dei ensemble, with whom he performed at the Biennale, Contemporary Dance Days and similar experimental music festivals. His film work also includes sound design and audio post-production, and he occasionally participates in screenwriting and editing.

Denin Serdarević graduated in Philosophy and Information Science. In 2005, he released his first album with the band Insert, and wrote music and lyrics for all the songs on the album. Since 2006 he has worked at Livada produkcija as a producer. The major focus of this studio is dubbing of animated films made by large studios - Disney Pictures, Sony Entertainment, 20th Century Fox and Universal. In 2008, he published a series of four children’s books entitled The Lost Screw, with a PC game based on the book, winning the award for the best children’s book of the year 2009 by children’s choice. This is his first animation film.
