The EMC Laboratory features the largest Gigahertz Transverse Electromagnetic (GTEM) cell in Switzerland and a semi-anechoic room to test the immunity of e.g. military systems to strong electromagnetic fields. The laboratory is equipped with the required measuring infrastructure to test the immunity and the emitted interferences in frequency ranges from DC up to 26.5 GHz.

UCC is an alternative to GTEM cells for pre-compliance measures in the fields of research and science. The partitions and the ceiling of this room are completely covered with ferrites. The rear wall, close to the equipment under test, is equipped with hybrid absorbers on a surface of 6m², which allows measurements on a frequency band of 30MHz to 18GHz. Compared to GTEM cells, this chamber has important advantages: the staff can enter and easily install the equipment under test, the practical implementation of the test with the power cable corresponding to the peripheral equipment and the ability to test larger items. The UCC can be used for measurements at 1m distance of radiated emission pre-compliance and immunity tests, according to IEC / EN 61000-4-3. In addition, it is ideally suited for pre-compliance measurements of automotive components according to DIN / ISO 11452-2 and EN 55025 (CISPR 25).
