Bydd gan bawb broblemau weithiau sy’n achosi pryder. Meddyliwch amdanynt fel jig-so dyrys lle mae’n anodd ffitio’r holl ddarnau at ei gilydd. Mae trafod problemau trwy gwnsela’n debyg i roi trefn ar yr holl ddarnau fel ein bod yn gallu dechrau gwneud llun sy’n gwneud mwy o synnwyr i ni.
Sometimes we all have problems that are worrying. Think of a confusing jigsaw when all the pieces are difficult to fit together. Talking about a problem in counselling is like sorting out all the pieces so we can begin to build a picture that makes more sense to us. Sometimes it’s difficult to talk to parents or friends about things that are making us anxious. A counsellor is someone you can talk to in a different way, someone who will listen to you carefully, who will not judge you or tell you what to do. Counselling is about helping you to work things out for yourself, making decisions and choices and helping you to look at things differently. It can help you to feel better about yourself.

Rydym yn ofni serch hynny bod ein cyllid yn cael dorri’n sylweddol y flwyddyn nesaf ac felly mawr obeithiwn y bydd yr ymweliad yn codi ymwybyddiaeth o bwysigrwydd prosiectau GISDA sydd yn atal digartrefedd ond hefyd y prosiectau amrywiol sydd gennym i gynnig cyfleon gwaith ac i symud i fyw yn annibynnol. Mae holl waith GISDA yn ymwneud a’r agenda cenedlaethol sydd gan Llywodraeth Cymru i drechi tlodi.
Like many other charities GISDA is facing extremely challenging times, as a result of severe funding cuts, the level of services that we can offer young people will inevitably be affected. In light of these impending cuts, GISDA sees this as a unique opportunity to showcase the invaluable work that is being done at the present. All of GISDA’s projects contribute to the Welsh Government National agenda to tackle poverty and therefore it’s vitally important that the Investment in our Services continues. The need is there. We are grateful to the Welsh Government, Gwynedd Council and the Lottery as our 3 main funders; we hope we can continue to work together to reach the goal of ending youth homelessness, of tackling poverty and to provide and equal opportunity to all Young people who may at a disadvantage for all sorts of reasons.

Rwyf yn y coleg ym Mangor rwan yn dilyn cwrs Celfyddyd a Dylunio, ac yn gobeithio bod yn athrawes. Rwy’n disgwyl am fflat i fi fy hun ac yn dysgu pethau newydd amdanaf fy hun ac am fywyd. Mae gen i le mawr i ddiolch i GISDA am yr holl gymorth y maent wedi’i roi ac yn dal i’w roi.
Hi, my name is Stephanie Fretwell, I am 17 years old, and GISDA has been part of my life for almost two years. I came across GISDA when a family matter came to light, and my mum needed to move away. I had moved around a lot as a child and felt like I had finally found a place I fitted into. At this point I was settled at school and in the middle of my GCSE’s . it was a hard decision but my mum and I felt it was best that I stayed with some friends to finish my last school year. It didn’t work out so I made my way to GISDA and they offered help and a temporary place in the hostel. I worked to settle in, and also struggled at times but GISDA, family and friends helped me. With the help of GISDA, my boyfriend Osian and my family, I stayed in school and passed all of my GCSE’s, I also made it to my prom. I have moved on to the Fron Fawr flats after proving I’m able to look after myself. I am now in college in Bangor studying Art and Design, and hoping to become a teacher. I’m waiting for a flat of my own and learning new things about myself and life. I owe many thanks to GISDA for all their help and the help that they continue to give. It will be hard to move on from GISDA but I am now confident of doing so, due to the new skills I have learnt.
