"In 2012, Helen was successful in getting a Creative Wales award. It is unusual for an actor to take that time out to hone art which is away from the stage. Helen wanted to look at how artists’ video and its sense of time could be applied more to storytelling, to do from another direction, that of an actor and devisor of work, what visual artist Steve McQueen had done in moving from artists film to mainstream film making.
