Mae’r daith i enwogrwydd, a adroddir yn y llyfr, yn dechrau yn Nhredegar Newydd, diolch i gyfarwyddwr creadigol ac arweinydd y grŵp, Tim Rhys-Evans. Gyda’i dalent anhygoel a’i graffter cerddorol enfawr roedd Tim yn awyddus i ddod â chwa o awyr iach i’r traddodiad corau meibion yng nghymoedd de Cymru a oedd gynt yn boblogaidd iawn.
The journey to fame, told in the book, starts in New Tredegar, thanks to the group’s creative director and conductor Tim Rhys-Evans. With his incredible talent and vast musical acumen Tim was keen to inject fresh blood into the once loved male voice choir tradition of the south Wales valleys.

Meddai’r cyfarwyddwyr Melly Still a Max Barton "Parotowch eich hun am hanes dramatig a dewr sy’n seiliedig ar fywydau a marwolaethau bobl Tiger Bay, gyda dos iach o rhamant ymysg yr holl helbul. Dyma ddathlaid o’r hyn sy’n unigryw am gymuned ryfeddol, ac mae’n bleser mawr gennym fod yn rhan o’r gymuned honno. Bydd hefyd caneuon bythgofiadwy i wneud cyfiawnder â threftadaeth gerddorol y gymuned."
Directors Melly Still and Max Barton said "Expect a gritty spectacular and a real thriller that draws on the lives and losses of the people from Tiger Bay, with a healthy dose of romance thrown in. This is a celebration of all that is unique about an extraordinary community, and we’re delighted to be involved with the community itself. And, doing justice to Tiger Bay’s celebrated music history, there are some belting numbers to boot."

Dywedodd Kate Woolveridge, cyfarwyddwr artistig y Forget-me-not Chorus "Gawson ni noson fendigedig gyda JJ Williams a JPR Williams ac fe wnaethon nhw ganu gyda ni a oedd yn gymaint o uchafbwynt i aelodau ein côr. Dyma sêr y genhedlaeth honno. Wnaeth JJ ddim stopio gwenu ac rwy’n gwybod bod JPR yn canu mewn côr meibion ac roedd o wir wedi mwynhau’r noson. Pan fydd aelodau ein côr yn cael diagnosis o ddementia, y peth cyntaf sy’n mynd ydy hyder a synnwyr o golli eu hunain. Mae dod i’r côr yn chwa o awyr iach i’r unigolion hynny. Syniad y Forget-me-not Chorus ydy bod gan bawb lais, bod pawb yn gallu canu ac mae Cer i Greu i gyd yn ymwneud â chodi oddi ar ein pen ôl, mynd allan a gwneud rhywbeth creadigol a does dim byd yn fwy creadigol ac yn codi calon yn well na chydganu."
Kate Woolveridge, artistic director of the Forget-me-not Chorus said "We had a fantastic evening with JJ Williams and JPR Williams and they came and sang with us and for our choristers that is such a highlight. They are the stars of that generation. JJ didn’t stop smiling and JPR I know sings in a male voice choir and he absolutely loved the evening. When our choristers are diagnosed with dementia, the first thing that goes is confidence and thus a sense of losing themselves. Coming to choir suddenly re-enlivens that person. The whole idea about the Forget-me-not Chorus is that everybody has a voice, everybody can sing and Get Creative is all about getting off our bottoms, getting out and doing something creative and there is nothing more creative and uplifting than singing together."

Meddai Kate Crockett am y profiad o fod yn feirniad yng nghystadleuaeth Llyfr y Flwyddyn 2011: "Y peth gorau am feirniadu’r gystadleuaeth eleni oedd bod cynifer o lyfrau da o dan ystyriaeth, ac roedd dewis y deg ar gyfer y rhestr hir yn dipyn o gamp. Ac rydym fel beirniaid yn arbennig o falch o’r tri llyfr ddaeth i’r brig ar y rhestr fer – gallai unrhyw un o’r tri ennill, ac mae hynny’n gyffrous dros ben. Wedi darllen yr holl lyfrau a oedd yn gymwys eleni, mae’n braf gallu dweud bod y byd cyhoeddi Cymraeg mewn cyflwr iach dros ben, a gallwn ymfalchïo yn safon ac amrywiaeth y llyfrau Cymraeg a gyhoeddwyd yn ystod y flwyddyn ddiwethaf."
In Cloud Road: A Journey Through the Inca Heartland John Harrison journeys for five months through the Inca Heartland, walking alone into remote villages where he is the first gringo the inhabitants have ever seen, and where life continues as if Columbus had never sailed. In this personal account of adventure and misadventure, gain and loss, donkeys and dogs, John tells of the people, places – and limits – he encounters on his journey through the Inca heartland and home again.

Meddai Dr. Kath Davies, Cyfarwyddwr Gwasanaethau Buddsoddi ac Ariannu: "Ein uchelgais yw parhau i ddod â budd sylweddol i’r celfyddydau yng Nghymru drwy fuddsoddiad cyfalaf y rhaglen. Yn ganolog i’n gweithredu fydd sicrhau y gall y celfyddydau yng Nghymru gyrraedd eu gwir botensial. Mae’r cyllidebau sydd ar gael yn llai na’r hyn a gaed yn nyddiau cynnar y Loteri, felly bydd rhaid bod yn fwy dethol parthed yr hyn y gallwn ei gefnogi. Eto, mae nifer fawr o bethau y gallwn wneud i gynhorthwy prif sefydliadau celfyddydol Cymru i adeiladu ar eu llwyddiannau presennol a chadw’r rhwydwaith hollbwysig o gyfleusterau celfyddydol sy’n cwmpasu Cymru gyfan yn fyw ac yn iach. "
Dr. Kath Davies, Director Investment and Funding Services said: "Our ambition for our programme is to continue to bring significant benefits to the arts in Wales through capital investment. At the heart of our new approach will be to make sure that the arts in Wales can fulfil their full potential. The funds available are more modest than in the early days of the Lottery, so we’ll need to be selective about what we’re able to support. However, there’s still plenty that we can do to help Wales’s key arts organisations to build on their existing achievements and to keep alive that all important Wales-wide network of arts facilities."

Founded in 2010 to undertake a single self-built project, Assemble has since delivered a diverse and award-winning body of work, whilst retaining a democratic and co-operative working method that enables built, social and research based work at a variety of scales, both making things and making things happen. Giles and Amica - who head up the residency at Chapter - are founding members of Assemble. Amica has been heavily involved in the origin, creation and development of Baltic Street Adventure Playground in Glasgow. Giles is currently working across a number of projects from a healthy chicken–shop to an alternative city plan for Vancouver. Both are interested in the role of the amateur, and of amateur making, in the development of architectural practice.

Ar un pryd roedd glannau'r afon yn llawn llysiau'r dial ac ysbwriel, bellach maen nhw'n llawn dyfrgwn a glas y dorlan. Defnyddir yr ardd dwy acer i gynhyrchu blychau bwyd ar gyfer rhai o'r bobl fwyaf anghenus yn lleol, gyda bwyd ffres a fforddiadwy yn mynd i bobl ar incwm isel - gan eu helpu i ddysgu am fwyta'n iach.
The Green Valley Centre, run by Bryncynon Strategy, won its National Lottery Award for its work to engage local people. They took derelict land and turned it into a green oasis for all to enjoy. Where the riverbanks had knotweed and litter, they now have otters and kingfishers. The two-acre garden is used to produce food boxes for some of the most vulnerable people locally, with fresh, affordable food going to people on low incomes – helping to teach about healthy eating. This community green space offers practical training and qualifications for young people, building their skills, fitness and confidence, and acts as a training facility for a range of people. Activities on the four-and-a-half-acre site include a reading group for toddlers and recreational facilities. Local school Ysgol Abercynon have their own garden where they grow vegetables and learn about nature, conservation, environmental awareness and sustainable living.
