Sa participation se fait souvent de concert avec d’autres organisations représentatives des employeurs, telles que le Comité consultatif économique et industriel auprès de l’OCDE (BIAC) ou la Chambre du commerce internationale (CCI), ce qui permet de renforcer la représentation du secteur privé.

The IOE has consistently worked with the World Health Organization over a number of years, mainly in the ILO/WHO Joint Committee on Occupational Health and in its work on HIV/AIDS. Discussions were held to see how this collaboration, particularly in the areas of treatment, care and support for HIV/AIDS sufferers, could be strengthened.

Depuis un certain nombre d’années, l’OIE collabore systématiquement avec l’Organisation mondiale de la santé, principalement dans le cadre du Comité mixte OIT/OMS de la médecine du travail et de ses travaux sur le VIH/SIDA. Des débats ont été menés afin de voir comment cette collaboration, notamment en ce qui concerne les questions relatives aux traitements, aux soins et à l’aide aux personnes atteintes du VIH/SIDA, pouvait être renforcée. L’OIE a aussi fortement participé, en 2005, à l’élaboration des Directives conjointes de l’OIT et de l’OMS sur les services de santé et le VIH/SIDA (en anglais). L’objectif de ces nouvelles directives est de promouvoir une gestion efficace du VIH/SIDA dans les services de santé, tant dans le secteur public que le secteur privé.
