This is done in partnership with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) and Health Canada.

Établis en 1989, les Réseaux de centres d'excellence (RCE), qui comprenaient à l'origine un seul programme, soit le Programme des réseaux de centres d'excellence, est une initiative conjointe du Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada (CRSNG), du Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines du Canada (CRSH), des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC), d'Innovation, Sciences et Développement économique Canada (ISDE) et de Santé Canada. Les RCE ont investi au fil des ans environ deux milliards de dollars dans la recherche, la commercialisation et le transfert des connaissances. En 2017, les réseaux et les centres financés par les RCE avaient contribué à la formation de plus de 48 000 personnes hautement qualifiées et à la création de 147 entreprises dérivées et de 1 332 entreprises en démarrage.
