Studies conducted by DND over the past 10 years in the Valcartier area show that the pumping will not have a major impact on the level of the water table. The results of these studies were confirmed during the pumping tests conducted in the fall of 2011 and the winter of 2012. The tests determined that the water level in the water table during pumping of 1500 to 2500 m3/day, which is close to the expected volume of water to be pumped during the project, fell by approximately 1 metre at the location of the pumping well. This is a small, localized drop.
