İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar ve Tasarım Fakültesi Mimarlık Bölümü öğrencileri, bitirme projelerinde Basmane ve Bornova’nın Karaçam Köyü’nü sosyal yaşam alanlarıyla donattı. Diğer yandan öğrenciler, çok katlı binaların kentsel yaşama etkileri üzerinde yeni tasarımlar üretti.

IUE architects gave a new direction to architecture through the theme “flow”. Senior projects of students of Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design; Izmir University of Economics (IUE) equipped Basmane and Karaçam Village, Bornova with social living environment. They also came up with new designs on the effects multi story buildings on urban life.

Dr. Aslı Ceylan Öner, “Öğrencilerimiz, mekânsal politikalar, dayanışma ve Eko-Köy alt temalarının üzerinden 3 farklı grupta mimari projelere imza attı. Öğrencilerimiz, çok katlı yapıların çevre ve toplumla kurduğu bağları mimari bir dille anlattı. 18 öğrencimiz, Grup Koordinatörü Michael Edward Young, Öğretim Görevlisi Nazlı Kök ve Araştırma Görevlisi Ece Küreli yönetiminde çok katlı yapıları, çevresel, demokratik, estetik ve sosyal kaygıları göz önüne alarak tasarladı” dedi.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Ceylan Öner, Head of IUE Department of Architecture, stated that students based their projects on the theme “flow” and she said, “Our students developed their projects under 3 different groups based on spatial policies, solidarity, and ecovillage sub-themes. They expressed the bonds the multi-story buildings established with environment and society by means of architectural language. 18 students designed multi story buildings by taking the environmental, democratic, aesthetic, and social concerns into consideration under the guidance of Group Coordinator Michael Edward Young, Lecturer Nazlı Kök and Research Assistant Ece Küreli.”

Yurt Binamız, Üniversite kampüsü içinde 460 öğrenci kapasitelidir. 8 katlı binamızın 4 katı kız, 4 katı erkek öğrencilere ayrılmıştır. Tüm kapılar kişiye özel kartlı sistem ile çalışmaktadır. Ortak kullanım alanları kamera sistemiyle sürekli izlenmektedir.

Plaza, hastane gibi çok katlı alanlarda yön bulamamak öğrencileri harekete geçirdi. İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi Öğrencileri, geliştirdikleri Navi Indoor Navigasyon projesiyle vatandaşların aradıkları odalara ulaşmasını hem kolaylaştırdı hem de vakit kaybını önledi.

Failing to find direction in multi floor locations such as plazas, hospitals, etc. made students take action. Students of Izmir University of Economics made it easier for folks to find the rooms they are looking for, and prevented waste of time with the Navi Indoor Navigation project they developed.

Öğrencilerle sohbet eden Dabak, Haldun Dormen’in tiyatro kurmayı delilik olarak tanımladığını aktararak, “Bu benim rüyamdı, iyi ki de gerçekleştirdim. 2 yıldır Asuman Dabak Tiyatrosu’na ara verdim. Şimdi İzmir’de yer bakıyorum. Bana yardımcı olun. Doğru bir mekân bulabilirsem, Eylül ayı itibariyle Asuman Dabak Oyunculuk Okulu sizlerle olacak. Güzel müstakil 2,3 katlı eski İzmir evleri olabilir, yer bakıyorum” diye konuştu.

Asuman Dabak was the guest speaker for the 1st Rabarba Theater Festival hosted by Izmir University of Economics which brought theater groups of IUE, Dokuz Eylül University School of Medicine, and Physical Therapy, Ege University School of Medicine, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Yaşar, Izmir, and Kâtip Çelebi Universities together. In her conversation with the students Dabak indicated that Haldun Dormen described opening a theater hall as madness. “This was my dream, and I’m glad I made it come true. I took a break from Asuman Dabak Theater for 2 years. Now I am looking for a place in Izmir. Help me find it. If I can find a suitable place, Asuman Dabak Acting School will be at your service as of September. I am interested in old Izmir houses with 2-3 floors,” stated Dabak.

Alaçatı’da içmimarlığını ve işletmesini üstlendiği otelin tasarımında, kente özgü köy sıvasından ve Yunanlılardan miras taş evlerden yararlandığını aktaran Foçalı, “Alaçatı’nın kendine özgü tarihi ve mimari bir yapısı var. Mesleğim gereği detaylara çok önem veriyorum. Çok katlı olmayan iki farklı bina oluşturdum. İlk binada, Alaçatı’ya özgü köy sıvasını kullandım. Her odaya Alaçatı’ya özgü isimler verdim. İkinci binada da Yunanlıların ilçeye kazandırdığı taş evlerden etkilendim. Yunan mitolojisinde altın hikâyelerini araştırdım. Antik Yunan’daki altın kullanımını da binaya yansıttım. Altın renginde cumbalar oluşturdum. Bu yapıda da odalara mitolojiden esinlenerek isimler verdim. İki farklı farklı tasarım da zaman katmanları arasında Alaçatı’yı yansıtıyor” dedi.

Foçalı reported that she used plastering unique to the village, and stone houses, inheritance of Greek architecture, in the design of her hotel. She said, “Alaçatı has a unique history and architectural structure. I pay attention to details. I designed two different two-story buildings. I used plastering unique to Alaçatı in the first building and named each room after unique places in Alaçatı. I got inspired by Greek stone houses in the design of the second building. I researched stories about gold in Greek mythology and reflected use of gold in the building. I created bow windows in golden color and named each room after the names in mythology. Both of the different designs reflect Alaçatı in two different time periods.”
