The symbol of Gradiška is in a rectangular shield shape with the top edge embowed, with a circular orange notched charge containing blue elements depicting a boat on a river under the mountains, the cross ornament, the oak leaves and maize ears, rainbow arches and white inscription of the municipal name. The top edge of the shield is said to represent šajkača, the Serbian military headgear, as a symbol of "respect towards all victims of defensive wars". The notched circular shape is said to represent an old coin. The symbols within represent the river Sava, the boat in it as symbol of "voyages both to the future and to the past". The mountains represent Kozara, the "invincible and defiant 'blood soaked', spreading its wings to encompass both the city and the river". The cross is said to have triple symbolic: as religious symbol of the Orthodox Church, as the statehood symbol and as an ethnographic detail found as ornament on distaffs (rock, spinning tool). The oak leaves have spiritual symbolic of purity, strength and longevity as well as they are symbols of economy, wood richness and industry. The ears are said to represent the field of Lijevče polje surrounding the city, agriculture and food industry. The rainbow arches symbolize also a bridge. The blue colour is said to represent justice and truth as well as the Serb people. The orange is the colour of old coins, old gold, ripe corn and the rebirth of sun. White is for purity, eternal values and perfection. Orange and white may be replaced with gold and silver in depictions of the arms.
