The activities of the festival were held in the presence of Professor Mohammed Zakarneh, the Director of Education in Qabatiya, Mr. Madi Abu Sheikha, the Director of Bank of Palestine’s Qabatiya branch, Professor Jamal Farhoud, the Director of the Athletics and Social Work Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Professor Aref Assayrah, the Director of Athletics at the said ministry, the Mayor of Jaba’a, several heads of departments at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in addition to civil society and security organizations and parents of students, with the participation of more than 500 students from schools around the city.

وجرت فعاليات المهرجان بحضور مدير التربية والتعليم في مدينة قباطية الأستاذ محمد زكارنة، وماضي أبو شيخة مدير فرع بنك فلسطين في مدينة قباطية، والأستاذ جمال فرهود، مدير دائرة النشاط الرياضي والعمل الاجتماعي في وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي، والأستاذ عارف عصايرة، رئيس قسم النشاط الرياضي في الوزارة، ورئيس بلدية جبع، وعدد من رؤساء الأقسام في المديرية، وحشد من المؤسسات المدنية والأمنية وأولياء أمور الطلبة وبمشاركة أكثر من 500 طالب وطالبة من مدارس المدينة.

The signing ceremony was recently held at the bank’s main headquarters in the city of Ramallah between Mr. Hashim Al Shawa, the Chairman and General Director of Bank of Palestine, and Mrs. Nandi Hall, Principal Project Manager at the Arab Women’s Enterprise Fund in the Middle East, in the presence of Mrs. Safa Madi, AWEF Program Director in Palestine, and several program officials, with the participation of representatives and assistants to the General Director of Bank of Palestine and heads of departments.

وقع بنك فلسطين في مقر المركز الرئيسي للإدارة العامة للبنك بمدينة رام الله مع صندوق مشاريع المرأة العربية اتفاقية لرفع الوعي المصرفي وتعميم أهمية وصول النساء الفلسطينيات للخدمات المصرفية، حيث جرى توقيع الاتفاقية مؤخراً من جانب السيد هاشم الشوا، رئيس مجلس الإدارة والمدير العام لبنك فلسطين، والسيدة ناندي هال، مديرة برنامج AWEF في الشرق الأوسط، وبحضور السيدة صفاء ماضي مدير البرنامج في فلسطين AWEF، وعدد من المسؤولات في البرنامج، وبمشاركة نواب ومساعدي المدير العام لبنك فلسطين، ورؤساء عدد من الإدارات والدوائر.

Mr. Madi Abu Sheikha, the Director of Bank of Palestine’s Qabatiya branch, addressed the support provided by the bank to the community through the allocation of 6% of its annual profit to support developmental sectors in Palestine through its corporate social responsibility initiatives that incorporate several sectors including education, youth, innovation, health and the environment, sports, culture and arts, women empowerment, the development of economic affairs, and Diaspora relations, all of which form a major part of the bank’s message to push forward the wheel of economic development.

بدوره، تحدث ماضي أبو شيخة عن دعم البنك للمجتمع، عبر تخصيصه 6% من أرباحه السنوية لدعم القطاعات التنموية في فلسطين، انطلاقاً من مسؤوليته الاجتماعية، والتي شملت قطاعات التعليم والشباب والابداع، والصحة والبيئة، والرياضة، والثقافة والفنون، وتمكين المرأة، والتنمية والشؤون الاقتصادية وعلاقات المغتربين لتكون جزءاً أساسياً من رسالته لدفع عجلة التنمية الاقتصادية إلى الأمام. وقال أبو شيخة بأن البنك عمل على دعم الشباب الفلسطيني انطلاقاً من رؤيته الاستراتيجية والتنموية تجاه هذه الشريحة، فهي الثروة الحقيقية للتنمية والتطوير في فلسطين فهم ثروتها الحقيقية المنتجة، ولديهم أفكار خلاقة وبالتالي لا بد من الاستفادة من هذه الإمكانيات التي يمتلكها الشباب. وفي ذات الوقت فإن البنك يعتبر ثاني أكبر مشغل للشباب الخريجين في فلسطين.
