Dirigido por Alberto López Bargados, antropólogo de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB), el seminario contó con la presencia, entre otros, de Abdel Wedoud Ould Cheikh, antropólogo de la Université de Metz; Fatimata M’Baye, presidenta de la Asociación Mauritana de los Derechos del Hombre (AMDH); Amadou Sall, sociólogo de la Université de Nouakchott; Manuel Gómez-Acebo, subdirector general de África del Norte en el Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación; Sidi Mohamed Ould Boubacar, embajador de Mauritania en España; Susana Velázquez, responsable del Área de Magreb del AECI; y Miguel Hernando de Larramendi, historiador del mundo árabe contemporáneo de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha.
