Play enables children to imagine themselves in a safe place in terms of emotional being and allow them to express themselves freely and increase their self-confidence, said Yıldız. “Children involved in playing can empathize with others. They can also acknowledge their gender identity. They learn to co-operate and socialize. They explore and learn about new concepts through play. They gain skills such as deductive reasoning, communication, speaking, thinking, comprehending, listing, etc. They also improve their problem-solving skills during playing,” said Yıldız.

Uzun vadeli düşünen yeni bir ekonomik programa Türkiye’nin ihtiyacı olduğunu, yeni hükümete büyük görevler düştüğünü belirten Altınok, “2023 hedeflerinin gerçekleşmeyeceği bugün hemen hemen kesinleşti. Tablolara bakıldığında Türkiye 2023'te ilk 10 ülke arasında olamayacak. İlk 10'da olup olmamak çok da önemli değil çünkü Türkiye'nin asıl sorunu kalkınma. Sadece rakamsal büyüme değil, mantığın, kültürün gelişmesi ve her türlü adımın atılması lazım ki biz kalkınabilelim. Ülke olarak ileriye gitmemiz zamana bağlı. Bu da planlı ve programlı yapılırsa mümkün” dedi.

Altınok reported that Turkey needed a new long-term economic plan,and that the new government hadmajor responsibilities regarding the issue. “We are almost certain that 2023 target will not be reached. Turkey will not be able to make it among the top 10 countries in 2023. It is not that important actually since Turkey’s main problem is development. It is not only about a numerical growth, we need to develop in knowledge, thinking, culture, and every step has to be taken so that we can develop. Going forward as a country depends on time, and that is possible through planning and programming,” said Altınok.

Her tasarımın bir hikayesi olduğunun öğretildiğini, bunun değerini iş yaşamında daha iyi kavradığına işaret eden Karadana, “Tasarımın bir sistem olduğu ve her şeyin bir mantığı bulunduğu öğretildi. Kişi hayal gücünü kullanarak tasarım yapabilir ama bunun da sistematiğinin öğrenilmesi gerekir. İEÜ Moda ve Tekstil Tasarımı Bölümü bana bunları öğretti. İş yaşamıma en büyük etki dikişi çok iyi öğrenmem oldu. Dikiş, bu işin mutfağıdır. Dikişi öğrenmeseydim tasarımlarım hayat bulmazdı” dedi.

Gözde Karadana, who stated that the education she received at IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design had great contributions to her career, indicated that the design of showcasing was the most significant factor for a store. She also said she was taught that each design had a story, and she appreciated the meaning of that much better in her work life. Karadana said, “We were taught that design was a system and everything had a rationale. A person can make a design by using imagination but the systematics for that should be learned first. IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design taught me all of those. The biggest contribution to my career was that I learned how to sew very well. Sewing is the basis of this job. If I have not learned how to sew, my designs would not have come to life.”

Prentoulis reported that the ruling party had a different approach on economic and political issues compared to the countries in European Union, and that reforms were necessary within the union, however, she said if the Union carried on with the current approach, many countries would have to break ties with the Union. Prentoulis said, “We need to take European Union as the North and South territories. As a matter of fact, Spain and Italy are also facing the issues Greece is up against. Similar tendencies are present there as well. The second problem is due to the fact that EU does not have a democratic structure. If we were to give an example to the parting countries, we can show England. We are not supporting breaking ties, we want EU to prosper.”

Esra Sarıhan told that instead of the concept of “cheap online shopping”, they developed the concept of “exclusive online shopping”, and that they offered a wide variety of products including electronics, mother/baby products, kitchen tools, home decor, and accessories, etc. Sarıhan stated that they made a point of shining out the products and designs in terms of quality, design, and technology they belong to. “We started out with an innovative idea like “exclusive online shopping”, instead of more popular “cheap online shopping” concept. Therefore, we work with products of designers from many countries around the world such as London, Germany, etc. as we also share our own designs and products of other Turkish designers with them. Additionally, we send products to domestic stores and stores abroad,” said Sarıhan.

İbrahim Evdüzen, graduate of Izmir University of Economics Department of Economics, and REMAX Real Estate Consultant, pointed out that foreigners, especially from Middle East countries, came to Turkey to purchase real estate, and Izmir became very popular due to its shoreline. Evdüzen also mentioned that investments in real estates were at high premium rates since 2008, and even though 2013 had been a bit placid, the months of September-October would offer a window of opportunity. Evdüzen said, “Investing in real estate is the most reasonable investment. Even at its worst, the investors gain 8-9%. Middle Eastern citizens headed for Istanbul due to an interest in Ottomans. Izmir comes in second place as a residential area. The prices stay a bit under the world averages, which become more attractive to foreigners.”
