Minister Panariti added also that the Albanian government has a vision on the measures to be taken for facing the energy security challenges of the future and fulfilling of the needs in the country provided that the traditional sources of energy are being reduced because of their exploitation. In addition to the measures for the efficient use of the existing energy sources like hydro sources, the Albanian government is working constantly for the diversification of the renewable energy sources like bio energy, solar and wind power.

Mr. Haxhinasto assessed this first visit of Mr. Fedotov in our country as an expression of concrete and growing cooperation between the Albanian government and the UN Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Minister Haxhinasto thanked Mr. Schwarzenberg for the ongoing support that the Czech Republic has been providing to Albania on the visa liberalization process, the country’s integration to the EU and assured the Czech counterpart for the determination of the Albanian Government to further continue and consolidate the instituted reforms. Touching on the visa liberalization process, Mr. Haxhinasto emphasized the measures taken by the Albanian Government in explaining both the procedures and obligations to the public opinion.

Furthermore, Minister Panariti pointed out the strong support that the Albanian government has given to the implementation of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline project, which will distribute Azeri gas towards Western Europe. Noting the advantages of the TAP Project, Minister Panariti stated that it will create a new perspective for the economic development of Albania and the region. TAP, he said, is also supported by Italy and Greece, and the three countries are determined to undertake all necessary measures for final selection of this project. Therefore, he stated, it will be signed the Intergovernmental Agreement among the three countries within this month.
