There may be signs that a new spring is in sight, Caroline Pauwels said in one of her columns in the newspaper De Tijd. She was talking about Europe. But is Europe really resurrecting? For this to happen, it shall have to show vision and courage, according to Louise Hoon. She is one of the three experts debating the subject in the main article of the latest issue of HENRI, the open-minded and bilingual magazine of the VUB. Also in the new edition: Anouk Laga about her role as President Core Europe at Duvel Moortgat and the extent to which her DNA as a VUB alumna has played a role in her career (no doubt a lot), beautiful impressions of the Architecture Week 2017, the green ‘Denkplek’ (‘thinking place’) of Herman Tournaye and the urban B-spot of Luk Van Langenhove, a laconic/ironic/sarcastic cartoon of Pollet & Pollet, the chance to win the latest book of Gynecologist Hendrik Cammu, and some deep thoughts about VUB honourary doctor Jan Terlouw and literature as a whole, courtesy of Lieselot De Taeye. HENRI number 8 can be found in displays on the campuses of the VUB and in UZ Brussels, and can be read online in its entirety as well.
