Bu disgyblion Ysgol Gymraeg Gilfach Fargoed yn brysur gyda swyddogion Heddlu Gwent i drefnu sioe yn eu hysgol ddydd Mawrth 11 Rhagfyr. Pennodd y grŵp brwd amser dechrau a phris tocynnau a bu'n marchnata'r sioe i'w cyd-ddisgyblion, eu cyfeillion a'u cymdogion.
Pupils from Ysgol Gymraeg Gilfach Fargoed have been busy working with officers from Gwent Police to organise a show at their school on Tuesday 11th December. After setting a start time and deciding on ticket prices the group of enthusiastic young promoters have been actively marketing the show to their fellow pupils at the school, their friends and neighbours and the community of Gilfach Fargoed. As part of this unusual partnership project between the arts and the police the children have met officers from both the Gwent Police Traffic Division and Dog Unit, learning about modern policing and enhancing their relationship with local officers while a trip to the Sherman Cymru provided a chance to see how a modern professional venue stages an event. Sherman Cymru also kindly added a drama workshop to the exciting visit which culminated in a performance of the company's latest festive production of Peter Pan. The Children and staff of the school are very excited about this young promoter event and have very nearly sold out the performance in advance. Special Inspector Christine Smith who runs the "Making a Difference Project" for Gwent Police says " We have seen the confidence levels of these young children grow over the weeks and it has been a joy to introduce many of them to live performance while they have had a chance to get to know their local community officers during the sessions."
