The TPPT is responsible for evaluating data submissions from NPPOs and RPPOs, reviewing, revising and developing phytosanitary treatments, and providing guidance to the Standards Committee (SC) regarding specific phytosanitary treatment issues. At their July meeting, discussions focused on the review and adjustment of the TPPT Work Programme. Also, in response to the 2013 call for topics, the draft submission forms were evaluated and updated for new topics to be added to the List of topics for IPPC Standards. Finally, the TPPT recommended numerous draft phytosanitary treatments to the SC for further member consultation and for adoption by CPM.

A l’issue de la deuxième réunion de travail du Conseil Affaires générales et relations extérieures qui s’est tenu le 13 juin à Luxembourg, le président en exercice du Conseil de l’UE, Jean Asselborn, a déclaré que "la réforme des Nations Unies est désormais entrée dans une phase décisive. L'Union Européenne soutient à un large degré les principes et les propositions du rapport de Kofi Annan, qui sont repris dans le projet de propositions du Président de l’Assemblée générale Jean Ping, et qui seront soumis aux Chefs d'Etat et de Gouvernements lors du Sommet de septembre.  Nous avons multiplié ces dernières semaines nos contacts avec les pays tiers en vue de contribuer à la formulation de réponses communes aux grands problèmes de développement, de sécurité et de droits de l'homme. A ce stade crucial du processus, nous devons continuer nos efforts pour arriver à un résultat ambitieux et équilibre."

At the conclusion of the second working meeting of the General Affairs and External Relations Council, held on 13 June in Luxembourg, current EU Council President, Jean Asselborn, stated that "the reform of the United Nations has now entered a decisive phase. The European Union broadly supports the concepts and proposals in Kofi Annan’s report, and these concepts and proposals are included in the draft proposals from the President of the General Assembly, Jean Ping, and will be submitted to the Heads of State and Government at the September Summit. Over the past few weeks, we have had numerous contacts with third countries in order to contribute to the drafting of joint responses to the major issues of development, security and human rights. At this crucial stage in the process, we must continue our efforts to arrive at an ambitious and balanced result."

These were conducted in a spirit of dialogue, openness and compromise with the preparation of documents of substantial, concrete and measurable content, which will be submitted to the heads of state and government due to meet on 23-24 October in Montreux for the XIII Francophonie Summit. The debates focused on the commitment to be proposed to the Summit with a view to reinforcing the role and position of French-speaking countries in global governance and to developing solidarity between these countries in food security, climate change, biological diversity, education and innovation. The role and development of the French language in international organizations were also discussed.

Diese Dokumente werden den Staats- und Regierungschefs unterbreitet, die sich am 23. und 24. Oktober in Montreux zum XIII. Frankophoniegipfel versammeln werden. Gegenstand der Debatten waren die Verpflichtungen, die dem Gipfel vorgeschlagen werden sollen mit dem Ziel, die Rolle der Frankophonie in der globalen Gouvernanz zu stärken und die Solidarität der Frankophonen in den Bereichen Ernährungssicherheit, Klimawandel, biologische Vielfalt, Bildung und Innovation sowie in Bezug auf die Rolle und die Weiterentwicklung der französischen Sprache in den internationalen Organisationen zu stärken.
